Sunday.Spotlight || Landon Pigg – Singer, Songwriter

If you’ve never heard of Landon Pigg (yes, that’s his real name) then now is the time to have a listen. I was first introduced to this talented singer/songwriter while watching an AT&T commercial that hit close to home. The ad is a boy-meets-girl-while-traveling story, which is how I met my wife. We loved the song so much that put it on our wedding CD. Have a look at the commercial, which features Landon Pigg’s “Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop”.
It turns out that Landon has been around for a few years, though I was unaware. His song “Sailed On” went into heavy national rotation after it was featured on Grey’s Anatomy. Incidentally, I think that’s what many artists (especially relatively unknown ones) wish for. Here’s a fanvid featuring the song and images from Grey’s Anatomy. It may sound familiar to you, even if the name Landon Pigg isn’t.
Grey’s Anatomy isn’t the only television show to have featured the young (he’s 26) artist. He has made appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Last Call with Carson Daly, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (among others). Recently, he has even starred in Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut film Whip It. In addition to acting in the film, he is featured on the soundtrack (with Turbo Fruits) on the song “High Times”.
Landon Pigg is definitely an artist to watch, but above all to listen to. I recommend signing up for Imeem, where you can listen to just about any song you’d ever want (and you can even fast forward through them).
